Living Authentically Me: Coming Out LGBTQ+

A webinar hosted by MHA in partnership with Janssen Neuroscience and Depression Looks Like Me

For LGBTQ+ individuals, coming out can be both a positive and negative experience, which can really impact mental health. It can be liberating, freeing, and exciting to express ourselves fully, but many aren't in a space where they feel comfortable, safe, or welcome to do so. That can significantly impact the mental health of LGBTQ+ individuals and the community as a whole. There is no "type" of person that mental health conditions affect; depression can look like anyone. Those who identify as LGBTQ+ face daily challenges that can impact their mental health. But mental health conditions are treatable, and you can live a fulfilling, authentic life.

For this year's National Coming Out Day, MHA along with Janssen Neuroscience and Depression Looks Like Me are joining together to amplify the voices of LGBTQ+ folks to talk about their experiences with coming out and mental health.

Join MHA in partnership with Janssen Neuroscience and Depression Looks Like Me for this free 60-minute webinar where we will:

  • Hear from individuals about their experiences with coming out and the impact that has had on their mental health over time
  • Discuss how living authentically in safe, supportive environments is so important, especially for those living with depression and other mental health conditions
  • Talk about advice and things that may help LGBTQ+ individuals feel supported in coming out and their mental health journey
