Taking Time for Yourself: Writing and Peer Support
Taking time for yourself is an essential part of any recovery journey. Self-care is proven to reduce stress and anxiety levels while increasing self-compassion. Taking time for yourself may seem unimaginable, but there are small things we can do to make self-care a little easier. As part of May is Mental Health Month, we will be showcasing how you can take care of yourself using creative writing. We will also show you how you can help other peers take care of themselves using this art form.

Meet the Presenter
Alana Sadhu, M.A., B.S., Director of Clinical Programming at LiveWell Coaching
Alana is a dedicated mental health counselor with over ten years of experience helping adults and adolescents with anxiety, depression, addiction, trauma, and various other life challenges. Alana attended Florida International University, graduating with honors before attending Argosy University in Tampa, Florida, earning a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Today, Alana’s passion for helping others shines through her work as the Director of Clinical Programming for LiveWell Coaching and service on the Board of Directors of Peer Support Space, a non-profit grassroots mental health organization in Central Florida. Alana enjoys spending her rare spare time with friends and family and in the great outdoors. She is an animal lover with a penchant for alligators, turtles, and her two crazy and ironically named cats Whiskey and Bailey.
