Gender Identity: Support from Exploration to Transition
As we continue to have meaningful conversations throughout Pride Month about LGBTQI+ mental health, we will host a discussion with a Sutter Health psychiatrist and internal medicine doctor on gender identity and transition. This webinar will focus on how physicians, family members, and community members can impact the overall health and well-being of those who may be exploring their gender identity or transitioning.
This 60-minute webinar is designed to help you:
- Learn how to respond in a supportive way when someone tells you they are questioning their gender identity.
- Understand the importance of family support and how to encourage someone questioning or transitioning their gender to share their feelings and seek physical or mental health care when needed.
- Learn how clinicians can create a safe place for LGBTQI+ (specifically transgender) patients, ensuring care is sought when needed.
This webinar will be recorded and available to the public within one week. We do not offer CEUs, but certificates of attendance will be available upon request after the event.
