Over the last year, MHA researchers and corporate partners at Lundbeck have been analyzing over 2.6 million mental health screens from 2020 and 2021. These screens were taken by individuals who came to MHA’s website thinking they may be experiencing depression, suicidal ideation, psychosis, or trauma during the COVID-19 pandemic. Now we’re ready to publish this powerful data and show you how your community has been feeling. We’ll break it all down by state and county in a groundbreaking national dashboard unique to MHA.
We want you to be the first to learn about this transformative new resource, our findings, and what it all means for local leaders and the future of mental health.
This information is rich, timely, and unique. Most federal sources release mental health data on a two-year delay, and even then, those statistics often present a picture of how many people are in a mental health crisis. MHA’s dashboard will display screening data much quicker and will capture how people are feeling much earlier – at the first symptom stage, rather than at the crisis stage. This data can help decision-makers act faster and respond to areas with the most state and local needs. Join us to learn how your community can benefit!

She is a lifelong social justice advocate with over 20 years of experience managing organizations focused on mental health, homelessness, poverty, and racial justice.
Dr. Deborah Dunsire, President and CEO, Lundbeck

Dr. Deborah Dunsire is President and CEO of Lundbeck, a global pharmaceutical company specialized in brain diseases with more than 70 years of expertise in neuroscience research. Dr. Dunsire has more than 30 years of clinical, commercial, and international management experience from the biotech and pharmaceutical industry, primarily in the fields of oncology and CNS, thus bringing a breadth of scientific and business experience.

As MHA’s Chief Program Officer and Vice President of Research and Innovation, Theresa works to improve access to mental health care through data and digital-based innovations. Her areas of special interest include prevention, early intervention, education, and building a full recovery-oriented mental health system of care.
Maddy Reinert, Senior Director of Population Health, MHA

Maddy manages the MHA online mental health screening program, which has served over 12 million individuals who have come to take a mental health screen and are seeking additional support. She is responsible for the collection, cleaning, analyzing, interpretation, and reporting of qualitative and quantitative data for use across MHA programming, and provides regular data support to over 80 partners nationally.
