MHA Annual Conference | Health & Safety Plan

The health and safety of everyone attending our Annual Conference in Washington, D.C. is our top priority. As we plan for our in-person guests, we are following industry-wide standards and requirements from federal and local authorities.

Here are the basic plans for all:

  • Vaccine requirement: All MHA staff, in-person attendees, and speakers must provide proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with a vaccine approved or authorized by the World Health Organization or FDA.
  • Self-assessments: Everyone who attends our conference is expected to do a simple self-assessment for COVID-19 symptoms every day, and if they experience symptoms, they should not attend. Please consider a rapid test if you have symptoms or schedule an appointment at a nearby testing site like
  • A cloth mask will be provided to each attendee and disposable masks are available at registration upon request; Masks are encouraged 
  • Hand sanitizer will be widely available throughout the hotel and meeting space.

Despite these precautions, a COVID infection is still possible and MHA assumes no responsibility for your health during or after this Conference.  If you have any concerns about whether, given your personal health condition, it is safe for you to attend this event, we urge you to contact your primary care physician.
